NAIDOC Week 2024 - Smoking Ceremony, Dance & Welcome to Country

We invite you to join us at 8:30am Tuesday 9th July, to pay tribute to NAIDOC Week. 

We invite you to join us in celebrating NAIDOC Week with a meaningful Smoking Ceremony, Dance, and Welcome to Country. This event is a chance to come together and honor the rich history, traditions, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Starting at Exchange Place, adjacent to the Tower Three South Lobby, the ceremony will feature Matthew Doyle and the Wuruniri performers, and will wind its way through Tower Two and Tower One, showcasing the beauty of Indigenous culture.

About Matthew Doyle and Wuruniri performers

Matthew Doyle is a professional musician (Didgeridoo player, singer, and composer) dancer, choreographer and teacher. He is descendant of the Muruwari Aboriginal nation from northwest NSW.

Matthew formed his own company Wuruniri Music & Dance in 1999 which is made up of a group of professional musicians and dancers presenting traditional and contemporary performances. He has performed all over the world and in Australia in major local and community events and has worked with some of Australia’s leading musicians and Dance Company’s.
