Matt's story is one of resilience and triumph. Born prematurely at 25 weeks, Matt has cerebral palsy, is legally blind, and has undergone 40-50 surgeries. Despite these challenges, he has achieved extraordinary success as a Paralympic swimmer, winning 9 medals (3 gold, 1 silver, 5 bronze) across five consecutive Paralympic Games, along with 20 international medals and 4 World Records.

Off the pool deck, Matt holds a Business degree, an MBA in Leadership, and an Australian Institute of Company Directors qualification. His achievements have been recognised with an Order of Australia Medal (OAM) for services to sport.

More about Matt Levy OAM
In 1987, Matt Levy was born prematurely at 25 weeks. He has cerebral palsy, is legally blind, and has had 40-50 operations on his heart, lungs, ears, and even brain.

Matt is also a swimmer. You might have seen him win gold for Australia. He has competed at five consecutive Paralympic Games, winning 3 gold, 1 silver, and 5 bronze medals. He’s also swam at 5 World Swimming Championships - winning 20 international medals and holding 4 World Records.

Matt is passionate about doing as much as he can for various charities: “I strongly believe that giving time to charity creates a better understanding of just how lucky I am, to do what I do, and have had the experiences and opportunities I have.”

With over 22 years experience as a motivational speaker, Matt uses his success framework to talk about resilience, goal setting, team work and attitude of how you approach life. You will be inspired, educated and motivated by his story of overcoming adversity.

Matt is the author of 2 books: Keeping Your Head Above Water and a children's book, Brandon Dreams Big: 7 Easy Steps To Get Where You Want. Both books build on his success framework, give insight into his story, how to reach for your goals and achieve success in your interest area.
