Central Barangaroo Gets The Tick of Approval

Barangaroo has reached its next major milestone.

Barangaroo has reached its next major milestone with the Minister for Planning and Public Spaces granting approval of the modification request for Central Barangaroo.

Planning approval enables Aqualand to move forward with detailed design work and further State Significant Development Applications, which will include community consultation.

Aqualand will continue the Barangaroo commitment to sustainability including being climate positive with a focus on water efficiency, carbon neutrality, community wellbeing, and zero waste.

Central Barangaroo

Central Barangaroo will become the cultural and civic heart of the Barangaroo precinct, linking the natural beauty of Barangaroo Reserve with the commercial district of Barangaroo South.

With a mix of apartments, retail, restaurants and a hotel, Central Barangaroo will be the major stepping off point for the new Sydney Metro Station, transporting thousands of workers, visitors and residents in and out of Barangaroo every day.

Designed to be a vibrant destination for residents and visitors alike, 1.85 hectares of Central Barangaroo will be a spectacular waterfront park, which is being designed and delivered separately by the NSW Government and ensures that over half of the Barangaroo precinct remains public open space.
