Settle in for a string of drinks and snacks at a Turkish eatery by acclaimed chef and restaurateur Somer Sivrioğlu.

Baharat is a Turkish cocktail bar, casual eatery and spice shop inspired by Istanbul spice market and the cool and funky street bars and eateries in Taksim. Baharat offers a casual, affordable and fun dining experience that is great for a quick lunch, after work drinks and celebratory occasions.

Bar. Food. Spices. These three words headline the menu – and the entire concept – at Baharat, a backstreet watering hole in Barangaroo that channels the spirit of Istanbul, with its buzzing bars and eateries, and fragrant, technicolour spice markets.

Their talented team of mixologists draws inspiration from the vibrant colours and intoxicating aromas of the famed Spice Bazaar, infusing traditional Turkish spices into a unique cocktail list. They celebrate the diversity of Turkish street food like Lahmacun and Adana Kebab, where spices are not just a means of flavouring food but an integral part of cultural identity.

Even if this space is just a slice of a room, that doesn’t mean the team can’t set a table for 10 or 12.

The location means the biggest market is the city-dwelling, post-work crowd catching the lifts down from the towers; stick around past six and you’ll see couples and friends staking out a spot and settling in for the long haul.
